August 2025 Recap

Fishing in August was awesome! Pods of redfish could be found tight on shorelines pushing shrimp early in the morning. Later in the day trout could be caught on deeper grass edges, or on reefs from the morning to later in the day. Sharks were also active, I had over 5 encounters this month alone. The bonnethead in the picture hit my pink bass assassin as I was picking it up out of the water. Pompano were abundant in the surf on live shrimp under a popping cork. Surf trout were less in quantity, but made up in their quality.
